Jon Pfeiffer / Lead Attorney
Jon Pfeiffer is an experienced entertainment trial attorney practicing in Santa Monica, California. He has successfully tried over sixty-five cases to conclusion before juries, arbitrators and judges. Mr. Pfeiffer specializes in high stakes, "bet the company" entertainment, business and copyright litigation.
Prior to forming the boutique entertainment law firm of Pfeiffer FitzGibbon & Ziontz LLP, he was a partner with the international law firm of Bryan Cave LLP in its Santa Monica, California office. Mr. Pfeiffer received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in 1980, graduating with distinction, and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver in 1983. He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court as well as the courts of the states of Colorado, Nebraska and California.
Mr. Pfeiffer has served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Los Angeles County Municipal Court. He also served on the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles County Bar Association and as a delegate to the State Bar Conference of Delegates. In addition, Mr. Pfeiffer has served as the president of the Santa Monica Bar Association and is currently the co-chair of Santa Monica Bar Association's Entertainment Law Section. Jon Pfeiffer is an Adjunct Professor at the Seaver College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Mr. Pfeiffer teaches Mass Communication Law (COM 570) and has twice received the Outstanding Adjunct Teaching Award. COM 570 covers First Amendment issues as well as defamation, advertising, obscenity, indecency, privacy (intrusion, private facts, false light and the right of publicity) and copyright.
Mr. Pfeiffer was named among “Super Lawyers” for entertainment law for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. He was also named one of the top 100 entertainment lawyers in California for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by the American Society of Legal Advocates.
